BBC Worldwide Music

BBC Worldwide Music invests in capturing landmark music moments and sharing them with the world. As Creative Executive my role varied from art direction to global marketing to managing artist and label relationships. Below are some of my favourite projects from my time there. Adele Live From London

When Adele came out from hiding in 2015 for her much anticipated TV comeback special we knew it was going to be something special. We wanted the world to see it. We pitched, we won and secured major network broadcasts around the world. As part of the promotion for the show we also arranged interviews with broadcast personalities from The Netherlands, Canada and Germany.

My role was to oversee all B2B and B2C global marketing for this extraordinary piece of global  prime time television.

Music Documentaries

Daft Punk, Foo Fighters, Backstreet Boys, Avicii and Edwyn Collins are just some of the documentaries I’ve been involved in over the past two years. I created and oversaw promotional trailers, artwork and other marketing assets for global distribution.

So if you’re in Mexico and you see a copy of Daft Punk Unchained on DVD, that was me. Or if you’re online and you stumble across AJ from the Backstreet Boys promoting their documentary in German, that was me too. Backstreet’s zurück!

BBC Worldwide Showcase

BBC Worldwide Showcase promotes the hottest new shows in its catalogue each year. Sherlock, Top Gear, Strictly Come Dancing, all that sort of stuff. This is a huge annual opportunity for the music team to promote its content both through live performances, trailers and printed materials - all of which I created and oversaw. At the event itself I would host and liaise with performers including Tinie Tempah, Paulo Nutini, Richard Curtis and The Backstreet Boys. Dreams really do come true.

Global Citizen Festival

What is the Global Citizen Festival I hear you ask? Great question. The Global Citizen Festival is part of an ambitious global campaign to eradicate poverty, headed by Richard Curtis and Chris Martin. Last year's New York City event brought together lots of important politicians, activists and musicians for a day of live music performances and awareness.

The project was a huge undertaking from day one that involved pitching, securing broadcast deals across the world and delivering assets and content from the live event as it unfolded. I worked closely with Richard Curtis and his team to create and develop a compelling treatment for international channels to buy into and also hosted them at our gala Showcase event. It was a great success airing on 23 TV networks and covering 167 countries, which they loved actually

BBC Music Shows

Last Night of the Proms, Later With Jools Holland, Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Glastonbury are some of the amazing shows produced by our partners BBC Music. And we distribute them around the world.

The Japanese witnessed the “greatest living rock star on the planet” Kanye West (sigh), take over the Pyramid stage. The Iranian’s saw Grime explode on Later with Jools Holland. The Norwegians enjoyed the quintessential slice of Britishness that is Last Night of the Proms.
